South Africans should brace for high temperatures and severe weather conditions in parts of the country on Thursday, 2 March. The South African Weather Service (SAWS) issued a Yellow Level 2 weather warning and advised that there is a high fire danger in some parts of the country. Check out the forecast below.

IMPACT-BASED WARNINGS:
A. Yellow Level 2 Warning for Severe Thunderstorms leading to large amounts of small hail over an open area as well as localised flooding of roads, formal/informal settlements and low-lying areas or bridges are expected over the central and western parts of the North-west, north-western parts of Free State as well as the north-eastern parts of the Northern Cape.
FIRE DANGER WARNINGS:
Extremely high fire danger conditions are expected over the Dawid Kruiper, Kai !Garib and Khai-Ma Local Municipalities of the Northern Cape as well as Drakenstein Municipality of the Western Cape.

The western half of the Eastern Cape: Cloudy in places in the morning, otherwise fine and hot but warm along the coast. The wind along the coast will be light north-easterly, becoming moderate to fresh easterly by afternoon.
The eastern half of the Eastern Cape: Cloudy in places in the morning, otherwise partly cloudy and warm with isolated afternoon thundershowers in the northeast. The wind along the coast will be light easterly, becoming northeasterly in the afternoon.
KwaZulu-Natal: Morning fog over the interior, otherwise partly cloudy and warm with isolated afternoon showers and thundershowers.
