“I ask all of you to join hands with me in the fight against illegal mining in order to bring to an end the devastation of our lands and the pollution of our water bodies.”
The President of the National House of Chiefs, Ogyeahohoo Yaw Gyebi II expressed fear that galamsey actions are a menace to the survival of Ghanaians and that any motion taken in the direction of its curbing have to be embraced by all.
He noticed that illegal mining actions have affected cocoa business in addition to Ghana’s income technology and employment goal and urged that individuals discovered to be participating in illegal mining actions be handled in accordance to the legislation.
