Ekhayeni Twins Laid To Rest In Heidedal, Bloemfontein
Family members, friends and community members gathered in Heidedal, Bloemfontein, today, Sunday, 1 November 2026, to lay twin brothers Kegomodicoe and Keabecoe Lekone to rest.
The 52-year-old brothers, known as the owners of Ekhayeni Lounge Bar in Bochabela, were shot dead on Wednesday, 21 October, while sitting inside their charcoal-coloured Ford Ranger at the gate of business premises.
According to police, a witness heard gunshots and later saw a man fleeing in a white Chevrolet Aveo. ER24 paramedics declared both brothers dead at the scene.
Police opened two murder cases and launched a manhunt for the suspects. The motive for the shooting remains unclear.
The twins were previously convicted in a Mangaung Municipality fraud and money-laundering case in 2012, receiving eight-year prison sentences alongside other accused.
