MK Party Removes Sibonelo Nomvalo As Secretary-General
The uMkhonto weSizwe (MK) Party has removed Sibonelo Nomvalo as secretary-general, citing concerns over internal factionalism, dual remuneration, councillor selection processes and other organisational issues.
In a statement issued by the Office of President Jacob Zuma this evening, Thursday evening, the party announced Lindiwe Mtshali as acting secretary-general, while spokesperson Sifiso Mahlangu will take on additional responsibilities as deputy secretary-general.
The changes come ahead of the 4 November local government elections, amid concerns over campaign coordination and discrepancies in councillor candidate lists.
