Kwaito and House Legends Unite: Oskido’s BIG DAY OUT Unveils Star-Studded 2026 Lineup and Kaya959 Partnership

The countdown to one of Mzansi’s most anticipated music gatherings of the year is officially underway. Oskido’s BIG DAY OUT today unveiled its full artist lineup, bringing together some of the most influential names in South African house, kwaito, and dance music for a massive celebration of the sounds that have defined generations.

Returning to its home at Huddle Park in Johannesburg, the festival promises a day packed with timeless classics, unforgettable anthems, and the unmistakable energy of a dance floor united by music.

Curated by the legendary DJ, producer, and cultural pioneer himself, BIG DAY OUT continues to celebrate South Africa’s rich musical heritage while creating new memories for a generation of music lovers.

Leading the charge on the MAIN STAGE is an impressive collection of pioneers and dance-floor favourites, including:B.O.P and Mdu, Liquideep and Trompies, Oskido, DJ Cleo, and Glen Lewis, DJ Fresh, DJ Mbuso, and DJ Ganyani and Nokwazi, Durban’s Finest, DJ Cndo, and DJs at Work

From the infectious kwaito rhythms that defined an era to the soulful house anthems that continue to fill dance floors, the lineup brings together artists whose music has become part of SA’s collective soundtrack.

The experience doesn’t stop at the Main Stage.

This year introduces the brand-new NAMBA STAGE, which will offer a deeper journey into the sounds of deep and soulful house. This dedicated space features:Sir LSG & DJ SoulDiva, Dark Horse and D’General, Mr Shane and Chymamusique and Sculptured Music and Bobsta B2B Sabz.

Designed to complement the Main Stage, this new addition creates space for dedicated house music purists to reconnect and lose themselves in the grooves that have shaped the country’s enduring club culture.

Organisers also announced a formal partnership with media giant Kaya959, bringing an exciting new dimension to the 2026 event.

The collaboration combines the power of one of South Africa’s leading radio stations with an event that celebrates community, heritage, and a shared love for dance music.

“For Kaya959, Oskido’s Big Day Out and our partnership represent more than entertainment—it represents the value of creativity, culture-framing, and time,” says Kaya959 Marketing Executive Tumi Rabanye.

“Oskido personifies these attributes and has multiplied them through the other artists he’s touched. We believe great positive impact and fun needn’t be mutually exclusive, and as a culture brand ourselves, there’s no time like the present to show up.”

This year’s edition of Big Day Out is particularly special as it celebrates Oskido’s recent recognition with the Order of Ikhamanga, awarded by the Presidency in 2026 for his outstanding contribution to local music and culture.

The prestigious national honour recognizes his lasting influence on Mzansi’s music landscape and the generations of artists he continues to inspire.

As the countdown begins, music lovers can look forward to a massive celebration that brings together iconic performers, two incredible stages, and the sounds that continue to define South African music culture.
