Kaizer Chiefs have confirmed the players who remain unavailable as they prepare to return to Betway Premiership action against Stellenbosch FC on Tuesday.

The Soweto giants host Stellies at FNB Stadium at 7.30pm, with coach Fernando Da Cruz hoping to have enough fit players available for the important league encounter.

Chiefs have revealed that Brandon Petersen, Lebohang Maboe, Langelihle Phili and Siphesihle Ndlovu are all dealing with injury concerns.

“Chiefs still have four major injury concerns, with Brandon Petersen returning to individual training recovering a knee injury,” confirmed the club in statement.

“Lebohang Maboe – who has played in all eight of Chiefs’ games this season – is nursing an ankle injury. Phili and Siphesihle Ndlovu are also injured and remain long term absentees.”

Petersen’s return to individual training provides some encouragement, but Maboe’s absence would be a blow after his impressive involvement this season.

The club also confirmed that there are no suspension issues for either side.

“Chiefs, like Stellenbosch, do not have any suspensions for the game,” the club added. “And Amakhosi coach, Fernando Da Cruz is hopeful of having a strong crop of fit players to choose from.”

Chiefs head into the match unbeaten in their opening seven league games, having recorded three wins and four draws so far this season.

“The Glamour Boys go into this game having won three and drawn four of their opening seven league matches, and will target three points to take their overall tally to 16 and ensure they keep pace with the frontrunners.”

With the race at the top of the Betway Premiership tightening, Chiefs will be desperate to turn their unbeaten run into another victory.
