Bail judgment expected for two accused in multimillion-rand estate fraud case
POLOKWANE: The Polokwane Magistrate’s Court is expected to hand down judgment on Thursday in the bail applications of Rirhandzu Tibana and Jabulani Maluleke, who are among the accused in a multimillion-rand estate fraud and money-laundering case.
The two accused are alleged to have been accomplices in the scheme involving the fraudulent handling of funds linked to deceased estates.
Tibana and Maluleke have pleaded not guilty to the organised crime-related charges brought against them.
The State has opposed their release on bail, while their respective legal representatives have argued that they should be released pending the continuation of the case.
The court is expected to consider the submissions made by both the State and the defence before delivering its decision on whether the accused should be granted bail.
The matter forms part of a wider investigation into alleged fraud and money laundering involving millions of rands.
