Industry Leaders to Tee Off for Rural Communities at Inaugural Mining & Energy Golf Day
Business acumen, sporting excellence, and philanthropy are set to converge in Centurion as the Mxolisi Hoboyi Foundation hosts its 1st Annual Mining & Energy Golf Day.
The high-profile fundraising event will take place on Thursday, 29 October 2026, at the prestigious Copperleaf Country Estate – The Els Club.
The inaugural event is designed as a unique intersection where corporate industry meets grassroots community development.
By bringing together mining and energy stakeholders, executives, entrepreneurs, and golf enthusiasts, the Foundation aims to foster strategic business networking while raising vital funds for sustainable social impact.
All proceeds from the golf day will directly benefit the Mxolisi Hoboyi Foundation’s core community development programmes.
The non-profit organisation actively works to alleviate poverty and improve living standards in rural areas through critical interventions, including borehole drilling for clean water access, seasonal blanket drives, back-to-school clothing and supply initiatives, and sustainable food parcel distribution.
The Foundation operates on a foundational ethos of encouraging corporate entities and successful professionals to reinvest in the communities that shaped them.
It has built a strong track record of supporting vulnerable groups, particularly elderly citizens in underserviced regions.
Notably, the organisation recently completed its annual winter drive, which provided essential support to elderly residents in Mbutho village in the Eastern Cape.
Organisers are calling on the mining, energy, financial services, and broader corporate sectors to support the initiative. Companies can participate by booking packages or securing high-visibility brand alignment through hole sponsorships.
