SUSPENDED TOP COP SHADRACK SIBIYA TO APPEAR BEFORE THE SAPS DISCIPLINARY COMMITTEE
Suspended Deputy National Commissioner Lieutenant-General Shadrack Sibiya is facing a critical week ahead as his legal battles intensify across multiple fronts.
Following his recent arrest, additional charges have been brought against Sibiya, prompting an order for him to appear before a formal disciplinary hearing today.
Sources close to the matter indicate that Sibiya’s legal team is prepared to request a formal postponement of tomorrow’s disciplinary proceedings to allow adequate time to review the newly added charges.
However, should the chairperson deny this request, his lawyers are expected to immediately approach the Labour Court on an urgent basis to interdict the hearing.
Parallel to his internal disciplinary challenges, Sibiya’s criminal case continues to unfold in the judiciary.
His bail hearing is scheduled to resume this Wednesday at the Randburg Magistrates’ Court, where the state and defense will further argue his release conditions.
