One killed, 12 injured in Limpopo Public Works Employees vehicle crash
One Limpopo Department of Public Works, Roads and Infrastructure employee has died and 12 others were injured in a vehicle accident at the D’Nyala Nature Reserve outside Lephalale.
The employees were travelling back from a departmental Heritage Day celebration when the vehicle they were travelling in was involved in the crash on Wednesday.
Limpopo MEC for Public Works, Roads and Infrastructure Tonny Ernest Rachoene has expressed his condolences to the family, friends and colleagues of the deceased employee.
Rachoene also wished the injured employees a speedy and full recovery.
“The Department remains in close contact with the affected employees and their hfamilies,” the department said.
According to the department, five of the injured employees are receiving medical care and support at hospitals in Ellisras and Polokwane.
The circumstances surrounding the crash have not been disclosed by the department.
Rachoene said the department was continuing to support the affected employees and their families following the tragedy.
The department extended its condolences to the family of the deceased employee and wished the injured staff members a full recovery.
“May the departed employee’s soul rest in peace,” the department said.
