Taxi Boss Bafana Sindane Turns to High Court to Block Madlanga Commission Appearance
Taxi boss Bafana Sindane and Joe “Ferrari” Sibanyoni’s close ally has approached the High Court in Pretoria seeking an urgent interdict to prevent his scheduled appearance before the Madlanga Commission of Inquiry.
In his application, Sindane argues against his compelled testimony and has further informed the court that he is currently unwell, citing health complications as a primary reason he cannot appear before the commission.
The Madlanga Commission, which has been investigating key issues within the transport sector, had scheduled Sindane to testify regarding ongoing industry insights and controversies.
Legal representatives for Sindane have requested that the court halt any summons or proceedings requiring his immediate presence until his health stabilizes and the merits of his interdict application are fully argued.
The state and the commission’s legal teams are expected to oppose the application, arguing that his testimony is critical to the ongoing inquiry.
The High Court is expected to hear the matter urgently to decide whether Sindane will be granted a temporary reprieve or if he will be legally mandated to appear despite his medical claims.
